Wow.. Once again Google nailed it. It’s amazing what a powerful driver human curiosity can be. Just look at Google’s pretty Google Arts & Culture app — launched last week that let users match their selfies to faces in old and famous paintings.
People seem crazy about this app as it allows matching their faces with famous art — and some of the results are hilarious. Omg, it’s annoying somehow……….. Google Arts & Culture app uses image recognition to wipe art collections from more than 1,200 museums, galleries and institutions across the world.
The app has been used since 2016, but its recently updated selfie feature as made it amazing. Tapping into the world of curiosity and the love of selfies and sharing was a smart push for crazy ideas. Users can also use the app to learn more about the art but besides it is indulging themselves more in virtual reality.
Here are some of my favorites.
Ah, It shows definite resemblance.
The app offers an impressive mix of articles and features on artists and art history. It’s also a fantastic catalogue of artworks, letting you explore by different styles, time periods — even colors.
But really, appreciation who actually thought of introducing such a crazy idea for selfie lovers.
Oooooooopsssss… Some matches are hillarious .
Regardless of its amazing features, people claim that images used for facial recognition may be used by Google in future for anonymous purposes.
In the app, the company says it only stores the selfies long enough to make the matches and won’t use the photos for any other purposes.
But the viral buzz will be improved and expanded said by Google on Monday as the experimental feature is only available “in parts of the US”.
Hope you’ll have fun too…
